Colours of the Sun

You must have noticed that the colour of the sun changes during the day. At noon, when the sun is directly overhead, the distance traveled by sunlight, through the atmosphere is short as compared to other times. So, sunlight comes across lesser number of particles, resulting in lesser scattering. Thus, around noon, the sun looks close to its actual colour, i.e., white.
